Pocatello Homes

Here is the railing going down the stairs.

Here is the kitchen my photos do not do it justice. it is very open with lots of cabinets. That is always a big concern for people.
This view is from the kitchen looking into the family room. it all come together very well. All of the colors blended together.
We made some changes to the front of the house to make sure it wasn't to plain. We added the shakes and vertical siding. One of the best looking exteriors around. This house is on Old Highway 91 West of Inkom. The Stevens would be happy to show it of if anyone would like. You can get ahold of me for a tour.

Pocatello Septics

This is the sewer line that runs underground across the back of the house to the septic tank.

Mikes 20x20 shop/storage shed.
We had a little accident with one of the electricians. They had to change some wiring in the attic and somebody forgot to tell the new guy that he needed to step on the trusses. He was o.k. but a little shocked when he went from the attic to the garage floor in a matter of seconds.
This is looking from the kitchen into the family room after they sheetrocked.

Pocatello Building

Here is a front view with the roof half shingled. Notice the wafer in front of the garage. It had been raining and we poured the garage floor.

Here is a view from the garage looking into the house. The garage floor is brand new just waiting for some use.
The framers working on the back covered patio.
This is looking into the kitchen from the living room. The little wall is where the island will be.
This is looking from the kitchen right by the island looking back into the living room. The fireplace is on the left with a T.V. stand in the middle. A computer desk will go to the far right on the wall.

Trusses Pocatello

This is the pile of trusses laying on the ground it takes a lot of work to get them ready to be set.
We build some of the trusses on the ground and the boom truck sets them in place.

Framing Pocatello

The last of the walls going up before trusses are set.
We hire a boom truck to set the trusses up on the walls this usually takes about three hours.

Here is a crooked picture after all of the trusses are up.
After the trusses are set it takes a day to build all of the corners and get ready for sheeting on a hip roof.

Pocatello Framing

Here is the floor half sheeted. It looked really big once the whole thing had sheeting on it.

Once the floor is complete we lay out all of the walls and figure the layout of windows and doors. It is a lot easier to make changes at this point instead of after the walls are standing.
We did change a few things to make some of the rooms feel more open.
This is the back wall of the house it is 75 feet long. We had to recruit some locals to help stand it. The Solomons brought seven people with them to help. It went up easy with that many people.

Here all but one exterior wall is stood. there is one missing right behind the garage. The well was completed this week, we ended up with 50 gallons per minute a great well.

Here are most of the basement walls framed. The floor will be framed next. We will come back to the basement and frame the rest of the walls on a rainy day. We have had plenty of those lately.

Pocatello Building

Here is the framing crew hard at work framing the basement walls.
A view from the front of the house right after they dropped the framing materials

This is the second pour in the basement the power trowel that you see is a handy piece of machinery it save a lot of back breaking work.

I guess I am still figuring out how to run a blog. Sorry for the duplicates.

Pocatello construction

Here the floor is graveled and compacted all ready to pour.
We poured the floor in two halves because it is such a big floor 14 yards in the first pour the second pour will be 13 yards.

We hired Maverick well drilling out of Lava to drill the well. He drills all of my wells. He only works part time it seems so I always get him there early in the job to make sure we have water before the move in date. he has never let me down. We will start framing this week so it will really start to look like a house in the next few weeks.

Demolition Pocatello

The funnest thing I have done with my equipment is demolition our task was to take down this little barn so they could build a new one.
It took about half an hour to bring it all the way down.

This is the spot where the barn was and the new one will soon be. I could do jobs like this every day.

Backfill and compact Pocatello

Here is a picture of the plumbing that goes in the floor before we gravel and pour concrete
We have a big vibrating compactor to compact all of the areas where we will pour concrete

Pocatello Rodeo

I have been on the floor of Holt Arena many times for different events this day was unlike any other for two reasons, one, it was the first time in fifteen years that I worked on a Sunday and two, I drove my dump truck on the floor of the dome. It was a fun job.
I helped Johnson Excavation haul the dirt in and out for the rodeo.
We hauled over 150 loads of dirt. There is alot of work that goes into putting on one of these events.
